Company History
Mr. Abernathy is a graduate of Charlottesville/Albemarle Technical Education Center in 1988 and was voted as the # 1 student in the schools history by the faculty and his peers and the highest grade average of 105% (4.0+ GPA) over 2 years of training. Since 1988 Mr. Abernathy has been licensed as an electrician and was Virginia's youngest licensed electrician at the time, to date he over 19 years experience in Residential and Light Commercial Electrical Construction, the company name is ESS-Electrical Service Specialists and is the electrical branch of the larger K-9 Groom-N,Inc., corporation located in Harrisonburg,VA.
Mr.
Abernathy is a seasoned NEC Code Consultant and has been an electrical
instructor in some fashion since the late 80's. He is also
nationally known as a NECŽ consultant as well as a residential and commercial inspector.
Mr. Abernathy has successfully passed the
National Home Inspectors Exam, conducted specific inspection training by the
famed ITA Academy and many other schools and is accredited by the nation's
largest home inspection organization known as the National Association of
Certified Home Inspectors. Mr. Abernathy is also a National Electrical Educator
for NACHIŽ, The National Association of Certified Home Inspectors and ICC/IAEI
Certified Residential Electrical Inspector. He travels around the US giving
electrical training, seminars and guest speaking on many electrical topics from
electrical theory to national electrical code and defects. Mr. Abernathy is also
a Certified NRSB Radon Measurement Specialists reaching the highest level of
excellence in Radon Testing as well as NAMIŽ Certified in Mold Inspections and
Analysis. in 2007 Mr. Abernathy won the highest honor of one of the industry
icons ( Mike Holt of
www.MikeHolt.Com ) at his 2007 Instructors Conference in
Orlando, FL. Mr. Abernathy took Overall Top Gun Honors at the event against his
peers in his very first appearance at the conference. Mr. Abernathy travels
around the united states giving seminars on the National Electrical Code and the
NFPA 70E as well as seminars on any electrical topic you could think of. In
2010, Paul will be bringing his own video series to the world of DIYers and
Inspectors.
Mr. Abernathy is the author of the published book "How to perform Electrical Inspections" and has written columns for IAEI Magazine and other publications. Mr. Abernathy is considered one of the leading authorities on the National Electrical Code in the united states today.
